Phoenix Rising Project

Phoenix Rising is a repurposed, recycled metal sculpture of the mythical phoenix bird that appears half-emerged, rising out of the playa. Phoenix Rising is a sculptural story of the transformation we all go through when preparing for and living on the playa. Staying true to its cross-cultural, mythical origins, the Phoenix cries healing "tears" of fire each night with ambient flame and participant-activated burn barrels.
